SCL Player of the Year
JA'NARRICK JAMES, RB, ANALY

Ja'Narrick James' nickname is "Skittles" and he certainly infused some energy into the Analy attack.

James rushed for 1,176 yards on 137 carries this season and scored 25 touchdowns. He also caught 25 passes for 265 yards and four scores in leading the Tigers to an 11-2 overall record - 6-0 in winning the Sonoma County League.

James accomplished all that despite his small stature - 5-foot-4, 150 pounds.

“Every year, every game, I’ll be walking over to the stands for home games, and when I walk past the opposing team that sits closest to the gate, you’ll hear a lot of whispering, a lot of smirking, a lot of laughing, like, ‘Hey, look at how small he is,’” James told the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. "I kind of chuckle about it a little bit and just go about my way and show what I can do on the field.”

James' coming-out party was his sophomore season last year when he rushed for 660 yards. He also averaged 16.6 yards on 25 punt returns and 30.4 yards on eight kickoff returns in helping Analy to a 12-1 record.
