NCL II Player of the Year
DYLAN ALVARADO, RB, CALISTOGA

Calistoga is the school that produced former NFL coach Dick Vermeil -- who also coached at Hillsdale High-San Mateo -- and NFL player Louie Giammona.

This year Calistoga churned out another gem in running back Dylan Alvarado, who rushed for 1,978 yards and scored 25 touchdowns, averaging 9.94 yards per carry. He also caught 11 passes for 208 yards.

"I love Friday night and beating the other team under the lights," Alvarado said. "There's no better feeling. It's surreal, kind of a feeling of accomplishment and joy."

Alvarado's best game was against Emeryville at home when he rushed for 407 yards and seven touchdowns.

"That was great," Alvarado said. "It was a crazy feeling. I was in shock and awe."

Alvarado said he has not closed his mind completely to college football, but at the moment is planning on attending a fire academy.
