Humboldt-Del Norte Little 4 Player of the Year
BEN KORTUS, LB, ST. BERNARD'S

St. Bernard's senior linebacker Ben Kortus was the No. 2 tackler (161) in the North Coast Section as he made big hits all over the field for the Crusaders. Kortus also had four sacks.

Kortus had 133 solo tackles, 28 assisted and averaged 14.6 tackles per game.

In his spare time, Kortus is an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoys wearing cowboy boots, driving a truck and rooting for the San Jose Sharks. On the field, Kortus was known for the red, white and blue do-rag he wore under his helmet.

Kortus' brother, Daniel, was also a key player for St. Bernard's this season, with 13.5 sacks as a junior, helping the Crusaders to an 8-3 record overall and a 5-1 mark in the Humboldt-Del Norte Little 4. St. Bernard's and Ferndale tied for first place.
