Humboldt-Del Norte Big 5 Player of the Year ALEXIS ROBINSON, QB, EUREKA
Eureka quarterback Alexis Robinson didn't get a lot of opportunity to show his stuff as a junior as the Loggers went 4-6 and didn't make
the playoffs. That all changed this season under new coach Jason White as he led Eureka to a 9-3 overall record, 8-0 in the Humboldt-Del
Norte Big 5.
Robinson completed 62-of-148 passes for 1,036 yards and 13 touchdowns, with eight interceptions. He also rushed for 885 yards and 12
touchdowns on 134 carries.
"I didn't get a chance to do much of anything last year," Robinson said. "But the potential was there and I got my opportunity this
season and was able to break out."
The amazing thing is football may be Robinson's second-best sport; he finished second in the state last season in the 400 meters.
"I have multiple (scholarship offers) for both sports," Robinson said. "I can run track in a circular direction and throw on
pads and play football."
Athleticism runs in Robinson's family. His father, Robert Robinson, played basketball at San Diego City College and Humboldt State. His uncle,
Chris Alexander, played basketball at Washington and his aunt, Erin Alexander, played hoops at Missouri.
Robinson moved around a bit as a youth, living in Florida, San Diego and Humboldt County. He now lives on a farm in Eureka where his father
is a horse trainer. The fleet senior has a 3.3 grade point average.
