DFAL Player of the Year
ANDREW ZOLINTAKIS, QB, CAMPOLINDO

Campolindo quarterback Andrew Zolintakis couldn't have written a better script himself.

The Cougars won their first 11 games of his senior year, including defeating El Cerrito 42-27 when he threw for three touchdowns and more than 300 yards.

For the season, Zolintakis completed 145-of-231 passes for 2,685 yards and 33 touchdowns, with just six interceptions.

"It's been everything I could have asked for my senior year," Zolintakis said before a second game against El Cerrito on Nov. 29, won by El Cerrito 49-34. "We went 10-0 (in the regular season) and it's been a lot of fun."

"I enjoy the bond you make with your teammates," Zolintakis said. "I like the competitive nature of it and the feeling you get after winning a game."

Zolintakis said his father played football and basketball in high school back in Utah and taught him everything he knows about throwing a football. Obviously, the Campo QB learned his lessons well.

Also considered: Drew Anderson, QB, Miramonte.
