SCCAL Player of the Year ALEX JOH, QB, APTOS
Alex Joh has a head for numbers and wants to be an accountant some day. That's good because the numbers added up nicely for the Aptos
High quarterback.
The senior completed 55-of-92 passes for 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns, with two interceptions. He was perhaps the biggest factor
why Aptos went unbeaten in SCCAL play and defeated St. Ignatius in the CCS title game. In that championship game, Joh completed 6-of-11 passes
for 190 yards and four touchdowns.
"I think I'm going to take business and accounting in college," Joh said. "I'm good at math. Anything with numbers I do well."
Joh moved to Aptos from Santa Cruz at age 9. He played baseball in his early years and started playing football his freshman year.
As in math class, he was a quick study.
"I like the unity of football and the teamwork it requires," he said. "And I like meeting new people."
Off the field Joh likes coaching and officiating and has a fondness for reading books by Tom Clancy.
Also considered: Jake Rehnberg, RB, Scotts Valley.
