After leading Santa Clara to a share of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League's El Camino Division title, senior quarterback Nick Garcia was named the Most Valuable Player of the division.
Garcia was hands-down the primary offensive weapon for the Bruins, running for 883 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 87 carries, while throwing for another 992 yards and 13 scores. He was also the team's kicker, hitting 3-of-5 field goals this year, with a long of 45 yards. In the last two regular season games, wins over Monta Vista and Gunn, Garcia accounted for 594 yards and 13 touchdowns from scrimmage.
Saratoga junior quarterback Payton Stokes was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Los Altos senior linebacker Jose Marin-Melo was named Defensive Player of the Year. Stokes threw for 3,168 yards and 36 touchdowns, while running for another 626 yards and nine scores to lead Saratoga to a share of the league crown.
Mountain View senior Jacob Cortinas was named the division's Outstanding Back of the Year, after running for 1,021 yards and 11 touchdowns, while Monta Vista senior Anthony Cruz was named Outstanding Lineman of the Year.
