Area players stock A's Area Code roster

The roster has been announced for the Oakland Athletics team that will represent Northern California in the prestigious Area Code Games Aug. 4-11 at Long Beach’s Blair Field.

The 2015 tournament will include eight teams representing eight regions across the nation. There will also be teams representing the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, Washington Nationals, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals. The tryout process began in June and recently concluded. Scouts representing all 30 big league teams and the Major League Scouting Bureau are expected to attend, as well as the media. The event is free for athletes to attend.

Representing the Central Coast Section will be Hunter Bishop (Serra), Carter Aldrete (Monterey), Ryan Jensen (Salinas), Andrew Daschbach (Sacred Heart Prep), Andrew Martinez (St. Francis) and Jeremy Ydens (St. Francis).
