After 26 years of steady guidance under long-time coach Bill Kepler, College Park is now seeking its fifth head coach in the last four years, following the resignation of co-head coaches Joseph Bautista and Derek Clements.
Bautista and Clements stepped down last week, after leading the program in the 2017 season. The Falcons won their first four games last season, but dropped six straight after that, including a 40-24 loss to Ukiah in the first round of the NCS Division II playoffs.
Kepler resigned following the 2014 season, and was replaced by former Encinal coach Joe Tenorio. Tenorio, however, was fired just four games into the 2015 season, at which time Bautista and Kepler resumed control of the team. Bautista stayed on for the 2016 campaign, in which College Park went 6-5, falling to Granada in the first round of the playoffs.
Clements, who was formerly a head coach at Mt. Diablo, joined Bautista to split the duties at the helm of the College Park program, but both coaches decided within three days of each other that they would not return for the 2018 campaign.
