SAN MATEO - Hayley Ahlvin doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs, part of a strong offensive display for host Hillsdale during a 9-3 non-league win over Notre Dame-Belmont on Monday afternoon.
Mika Chong and Hannah Levy also added extra-base hits for the Fighting Knights, who provided plenty of run support for starting pitcher Sydney Nagamine. Nagamine allowed just three hits during the complete game effort and did not give up an earned run. Levy and Kealani Kaufusi each had multi-hit games for Hillsdale.
After scoring once in the bottom of the first, Hillsdale blew the game open with five runs in the bottom of the second inning. Ahlvin doubled to score Bella Carreon during the rally, while Caitlin Regan provided a key run-scoring bunt single and Levy drove in Chong to complete the rally.
Hillsdale improved to 12-7 overall with the win, while Notre Dame dropped to 11-8.
