Junior Dakari Monroe and senior Chandler Ramirez rushed for two touchdowns apiece and senior quarterback Trent Scharrenberg accounted for a pair of scores as Archbishop Mitty remained unbeaten with an easy 42-7 win over Sacred Heart Cathedral Friday night in West Catholic Athletic League action.
The Monarchs (6-0, 3-0 WCAL) built a 35-0 halftime lead and coasted to victory. Ramirez opened the scoring with a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and added a 26-yard run to increase the Monarchs' lead to 28-0 in the second quarter.
Monroe scored on runs of 50 and 35 yards. Scharrenberg scored on a five-yard run and hit Jose Manzo for a 34-yard strike to account for the other Mitty touchdowns.
The Monarchs, tied for first with Serra in the WCAL, look to remain undefeated at home next week against St. Francis. The Fightin' Irish look for their first league win Saturday afternoon against San Francisco rival Archbishop Riordan.
