Branham remains on top of the rankings after edging Serra in overtime and the remaining Open Division semifinals fill out the top 5 along with Alisal. The Trojans didn't make the Open but are headed to the Division 1 semifinals against PCAL-Gabilan rival North Salinas as the CCS playoffs come to a close this week.

Branham advanced to the Open semifinals with a 3-1 overtime victory over Serra. Senior Ian Hutt scored 3 goals for the Bruins, who host Bellarmine Tuesday night in the semis.

Watsonville needed overtime to avenge a regular-season loss to Lincoln, winning 2-0 to advance to the CCS Open semifinals. The Wildcatz host Saint Francis Tuesday night.

Bellarmine held off a late Burlingame challenge to post a 3-2 win in the Open quarterfinals. The Bells visit Branham Tuesday in the semifinals.

Alisal edged San Benito 2-1 in the first round of the CCS Division 1 playoffs, setting up a rematch with PCAL-Gabilan rival North Salinas in the semifinals. The teams split their matchups during the regular season.

Saint Francis knocked off SCVAL-DA champ Santa Clara 2-0 in the first round of the Open Division playoffs. The third-seeded Lancers travel to Watsonville to take on the Wildcatz Tuesday.

Lincoln's season ended in a 2-0 overtime loss at Watsonville in the CCS Open quarterfinals.

Junior Xavier Van Loben Sels scored off an assist from Andrew Alexander, but Serra fell in overtime at Branham, 3-1, in the CCS Open quarterfinals. Serra ended its season 14-6-1.

North Salinas advanced to the semifinals of the CCS Division playoffs with an impressive 3-0 win over St. Ignatius. The Vikings take on PCAL-Gabilan Alisal in the semifinals Wednesday afternoon.

Burlingame's season ended in a 3-2 loss at home against Bellarmine in the CCS Open quarterfinals.

St. Ignatius saw its season end in a 3-0 loss at North Salinas in the CCS Division 1 first round.

The Monarchs finished the regular season with - what else? - a tie against Valley Christian, their eighth tie in WCAL play. But Mitty didn't need extra time in a 2-0 win over Willow Glen on goals by Manuel Portillo and Riley de Guzman. Mitty hosts Leigh in a CCS Division 3 semifinal.

Valley Christian's season ended in a stunning 3-0 loss to Woodside in the CCS Division 3 quarterfinals.

Prospect opened CCS Division 3 play with a 2-1 win over Santa Teresa, the Panthers' second win over the Saints this season. Prospect hosts Woodside in the semifinals Wednesday.

Santa Clara's season ended in a 2-0 loss at Saint Francis in the CCS Open quarterfinals.

Leigh scored late to tie Branham in the regular-season finale and then did it again to oust Harker 1-0 in the CCS Division 3 first round. The Longhorns travel to Mitty Wednesday for the semifinals.

Menlo-Atherton continued its late-season surge with a 2-0 win at Menlo in the first round of the CCS Division 2 playoffs. The Bears, who are on an 8-match unbeaten streak after opening the season 1-6-2, travel to Mountain View Wednesday for the semifinals.

Menlo's season ended in a 2-0 loss to Menlo-Atherton in the CCS Division 2 quarterfinals.

SCVAL-El Camino champ Wilcox advanced to the CCS Division 1 semifinals with a 2-0 win over Palo Alto. The Chargers visit No. 1 seed Aragon Wednesday afternoon.

Sacred Heart Prep knocked off BVAL-West Valley champ Ann Sobrato, 3-1, to advance to the CCS Division 2 semifinals. The Gators visit Hillsdale Wednesday.

Ann Sobrato's magical season ended in a 3-1 loss to Sacred Heart Prep in the CCS Division 2 quarterfinals.

Willow Glen's season ended in a 2-0 loss to Archbishop Mitty in the CCS Division 3 quarterfinals.

Aragon advanced to the CCS Division 1 semifinals in a penalty-kick shootout against Aptos after the teams played to a goalless draw. The Dons host Wilcox Wednesday afternoon.

Mountain View let a 3-0 halftime lead get away, but regrouped to knock off Carlmont in penalties to advance to the CCS Division 2 semifinals. The Spartans host Menlo-Atherton Wednesday night.

Harker's season ended in a 1-0 loss to Leigh in the CCS Division 3 quarterfinals.

Aptos' season ended in a penalty-kick shootout in the CCS Division 1 quarterfinals after the Mariners played Aragon to a goalless draw through regulation and overtime.
