Fremont Christian snaps CSD streak

January 15, 2020

In two head-to-head match-ups last season, Fremont Christian was outscored by California School for the Deaf by a combined 91 points. On Tuesday night, FCS not only turned the tables on CSD, but ended the Eagles' 29-game BCL league winning streak with its 39-30 victory.

McKenna Nolasco led the way with 13 points, eight steals and five assists for the Warriors, while Annie Yu hit a trio of big three-pointers. Fremont Christian also dominated the glass in the win, as Micah Williams added 16 rebounds to go with 12 points, while Cayoung Cuogh-Lee had 14 boards. Despite that, the game was back-and-forth until FCS went on an 8-0 run to end the third quarter, and maintained its lead from there to hand CSD its first loss in league play since 2017.

"I am so proud of the effort my team put in, and how they worked our game plan to perfection," said Fremont Christian coach Chris Gomez.

With the win, Fremont Christian is the lone remaining unbeaten team in BCL-General play, and improved its overall record to 11-4. CSD fell to 6-5 overall, 2-1 in league play.
