P2P NCS Girls Soccer Honors
Livermore's Lexi Romero is the NCS Junior of the Year.

NCS Junior of the Year
LEXI ROMERO, LIVERMORE

Romero has been one of the best players in the section since moving to Livermore before her sophomore campaign. Last year’s P2P Sophomore of the Year repeats her honor as the top junior in the section this season.

Committed to the Air Force Academy, Romero led Livermore to the NCS Division II championship this season, scoring 20 goals to go with 10 assists. She has now scored 40 goals in two years for the Cowboys, who have become one of the elite programs in the region since her arrival.

Last fall, she was one of only two players from Northern California selected for the US Olympic Development Thanksgiving Inter-regional – among the 2000 age group – and was purely dominant in big games this past winter.

Romero registered three goals and an assist during the playoffs, as the Cowboys knocked off Northgate in the title game. That was after Romero scored the game-winning goal in a quarterfinal win over Tamalpais, and assisted on the game-winning goal in the semifinals against Bishop O’Dowd.

Playing in the top league in the section, Romero exhibited the respect she has earned over the last two years, being named the Co-Most Valuable Player of the East Bay Athletic League.

Other players considered for this award: Carondelet’s Cassidy Tshimbalanga and Las Lomas’ Katelyn Beasley.

NOTE: We would like to thank our media partners, coaches, parents, players and fans for contributing photos for our all-section features. We salute all of the players that have made this a wonderful season of NCS soccer.
