P2P NCS Girls Soccer Honors
Carondelet's Ellie Ospeck is the NCS Freshman of the Year.

NCS Freshman of the Year
ELLIE OSPECK, CARONDELET

Ospeck earned first-team All-EBAL honors this season as an immediate threat in both the midfield and up front.

The first-year high school player tallied nine goals and nine assists, which included an assist in the Division I title game, a goal in the semifinal victory over California, and one of each in a first-round win over College Park.

She received some regional and nation-wide attention back in December, when she earned first-team all-tournament honors at the National Elite Prep Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, where the Cougars went unbeaten against some of the top teams in the country.

Though she was recognized as a first-team midfielder within the EBAL, Ospeck is widely recognized for her speed up front as a forward, along with her ability to win balls in the midfield. She figures to be a threat for the next three years, and will lead a nucleus of returners next season for Carondelet.

Other players considered for this award: Head-Royce’s Nadia Ngom, El Cerrito’s Raniyah Burton, and Monte Vista’s Megan Edelman.
