THROUGH WEEK 9
Archbishop Mitty's recent dominance pushes the Monarchs back to the No. 2 spot in the rankings with a showdown against No. 1 Saint Francis looming on Saturday. Meanwhile, Leigh has blasted its way into the top 5 with six straight wins to put pressure on Lincoln in the BVAL-Mount Hamilton title race.

Brandon Angulo and David Hernandez Escobar scored as Saint Francis knocked off Valley Christian 2-0 to remain unbeaten in the WCAL. The Lancers host Archbishop Riordan before a showdown Saturday at Archbishop Mitty.
The sheer dominance of Mitty's last four wins propels the Monarchs back into the No. 2 spot. Mitty has won its last four games - over Riordan, Valley Christian, St Ignatius and Bellarmine - by a combined 20-0 score to continue to put pressure on No. 1 Saint Francis. Mitty visits Serra Wednesday before hosting Saint Francis Saturday.
Mountain View remained perfect in the SCVAL-De Anza with shutout wins over Palo Alto and Gunn. The Spartans face rival Los Altos and Santa Clara this week.
Leigh has won six straight following an 0-3 start in the BVAL-MH, outscoring opponents 24-2 during that stretch. The Longhorns face Lincoln and Mt. Pleasant this week.
Lincoln failed to score last week and saw its lead in the BVAL-Mount Hamilton reduced to just two points over Leigh following a shock 2-0 loss to previously winless Leland. The Lions will look to get back on track this week when they host Leigh in a battle for first place Tuesday and Willow Glen Thursday.
Aragon picked up a point at Burlingame to remain one point ahead of the Panthers in the PAL-Bay title race. The Dons take on Half Moon Bay and Carlmont this week.
Burlingame remained a point behind Aragon in the PAL-Bay title race following a 3-0 win over Sequoia. The Panthers face Carlmont and Menlo-Atherton this week.
Carlmont suffered a massive blow in its PAL-Bay title hopes with a 1-0 loss at Half Moon Bay. The Scots, who are five points out of first place with just four matches to play, face a make-or-break week against Burlingame and Aragon.
Sophomore Declan Sitter had a goal and assist in a 4-0 win over Harker as Menlo remained perfect in the WBAL. The Knights take on The King's Academy and Sacred Heart Prep this week.
Alisal continued its bumpy ride in the PCAL-Gabilan with a 2-1 loss at Greenfield. The Trojans then showed their quality in a 1-1 against NCS power Berkeley in a non-league matchup. The Trojans face North Salinas and Seaside this week.
Serra recovered from a 5-0 loss at Bellarmine with a 2-1 win over St. Ignatius. The Padres take on Mitty and Riordan this week.
The strange season for the powerhouse Bells continues as they followed up a 5-0 win over Serra with a 4-0 loss at Mitty. At a game below .500 in the WCAL, Bellarmine is not currently eligible for CCS playoff consideration, but wins over St. Ignatius and Valley Christian would go a long way to securing eligbility.
Pioneer remained unbeaten in the BVAL-ST West with a win against Overfelt and goalless draw with Silver Creek. The Mustangs face Yerba Buena and Oak Grove this week.
Senior Nikhil Morales had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over Palo Alto to help Los Altos stay in second place in the SCVAL-DA. The Eagles meet Mountain View and Gunn this week.
Los Gatos remained undefeated in the SCVAL-El Camino with a tie against Monta Vista and 1-0 win at Milpitas. The Wildcats have a chance to extend their lead in the title race when they host Wilcox Friday.
Westmont continued its strong season in its return to the BVAL-MH league with a pair of shutouts against Lincoln and Willow Glen. The Warriors sit third in the division ahead of games against Mt. Pleasant and Leland this week.
Aptos moved into first place in the SCCAL with shutout wins over Harbor and Scotts Valley. The Mariners visit San Lorenzo Valley and Soquel this week.
Junior Angel Hernandez scored in a 1-1 tie against Fremont for the Bruins, who dropped to fourth place in the SCVAL-DA. Santa Clara takes on Homestead and Mountain View this week.
Menlo-Atherton split its games last week, blowing out Half Moon Bay 5-1 before losing 3-1 at home against first-place Aragon. The Bears meet Sequoia and Burlingame this week.
Hollister took over first place in the PCAL-Gabilan with wins over Seaside and Alvarez. The Balers meet Greenfield and Watsonville this week.
Pajaro Valley slipped into a tie for second in the PCAL-Mission with losses to Palma and Salinas last week. The Grizzlies take on Monterey and Soledad this week.
After an outstanding preseason, Seaside continues to struggle in the PCAL-Gabilan, settling for one point last week in a goalless draw against North Salinas. The Spartans face a busy week with games against Watsonville, Alisal and Alvarez.
Sophomore Javier Rocha scored 2 goals in a 3-2 win over Oak Grove as the Dons remained tied for second in the BVAL-ST West. Del Mar faces Silver Creek and Overfelt this week.
Christopher seized control of the BVAL-ST East race with wins over Ann Sobrato and Andrew Hill. The Cougars have a chance to essentially end the title race when they host Santa Teresa Tuesday.
Mt. Pleasant knocked off Branham and tied Prospect to remain in the upper half of the BVAL-MH heading into the home stretch. The Cardinals face Westmont and Leigh this week.
