CCS Sophomore of the Year
MAURICE WASHINGTON III, THE KING'S ACADEMY

The King's Academy is coming off an 8-3 season and a trip to the CCS playoffs, but the future appears even brighter with the presence of young guns like quarterback Michael Johnson, Jr. - the Prep2Prep CCS Freshman of the Year - and Maurice Washington III, the Prep2Prep CCS Sophomore of the Year.

Washington had a season to remember, rushing for 1,827 yards and scoring 40 touchdowns, including 29 on the ground. He scored six times on a combination of kick and interception returns.

The sophomore ran wild in a 62-49 win over Jefferson, accounting for 402 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. He finished with eight total touchdowns that game.

Washington scored at least one touchdown in every game this season, including at least three scores in eight of the team's 11 contests.
