Okpala didn’t play for a program that got a ton of the attention during the season, but that didn’t matter to Esperanza, which can polish its CIF Division II state title, with much thanks
due to Okpala. The 6-foot-8 senior averaged 30.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game for the Aztecs.
If that stat line doesn’t demonstrate how dominant Okpala was,
consider this: only one other teammate averaged double-digits in points (junior forward Brendan Harrick). Okapala is off to Palo Alto to play for Stanford.
NOTE: We would like to thank our media partners, coaches, parents, players and fans for contributing photos for our all-section features.
We salute all of the players that have made this a wonderful season of SS basketball.
