#5 ST. IGNATIUS (9-3-0) vs. #1 BELLARMINE COLLEGE PREP (11-1-0)
We have been treated to nothing but outstanding games when the WCAL heavyweights meet and it should be no exception Friday night when the Bells go for their 12th win in a row against a St. Ignatius team they beat 35-28 in the regular season. St. Ignatius features a much more balanced attack and senior quarterback Jack Stinn is at the top of his game. However, the Bells have improved their already solid execution all season and are going to be tough to stop behind the rushing trio of junior quarterback KJ Carta-Samuels and seniors Kenneth Olugbode and Joey Sanfilippo. It may come down to a turnover here or there and the Bells simply don't give the ball up very often. PREDICTION: Bellarmine College Prep 35, St. Ignatius 27.

SAN BENITO (7-5-0) at #11 MILPITAS (9-3-0) San Benito has gone on a tremendous run in the CCS playoffs, ousting a pair of very good teams in Alisal and Salinas. However, Milpitas is on a roll behind its physical and athletic offensive line and figures to make enough plays to snag the title. PREDICTION: Milpitas 34, San Benito 21.

#15 LOS GATOS (8-4-0) at #8 ST. FRANCIS (7-5-0) These longtime rivals have taken vastly different paths on their way to the championship game, as St. Francis has rolled past Overfelt and Aragon, while Los Gatos needed a dramatic stop on a two-point conversion to edge Wilcox in overtime in the semifinals. The Los Gatos offense will have some difficulty moving the ball against a very good St. Francis defense and the Lancers should be able to move the ball through the air against the Wildcats. PREDICTION: St. Francis 28, Los Gatos 14.

APTOS (10-2-0) at #10 VALLEY CHRISTIAN (6-6-0) Longtime coach Randy Blankenship has his Aptos team in the final against all odds, as the Mariners held off a strong Saratoga team and then came from behind to upset top-seeded Monterey in the semifinals. But Valley Christian, though not as strong defensively as in years past, simply has too many weapons, especially in the backfield with the combination of senior Ryan Severson and sophomore Kirk Johnson. PREDICTION: Valley Christian 41, Aptos 28.

MENLO SCHOOL (10-2-0) at #13 SACRED HEART PREP (11-1-0) The rivals from just down Valparaiso Avenue meet again, as Sacred Heart Prep rallied in the regular-season finale to post a 31-28 win. But the Knights and quarterback Jack Heneghan are playing at a completely different level now and should be able to solve a SHP defense that has been among the best in CCS all season. PREDICTION: Menlo 31, Sacred Heart Prep 24.
