    Pacific Grove reaches D-III title game with 3-2 win over Carmel

    The Pacific Grove baseball team moved one step closer to its first CCS title since 1998 with a 3-2 victory over Carmel Tuesday afternoon in a CCS Division III semifinal at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The ninth-seeded Breakers (19-10) advance to meet Menlo in the championship game Saturday at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Second-seeded Menlo (22-7) reached the final with an 8-2 win over No. 3 Monte Vista Christian (25-5). Carmel ended its season with a 20-10 mark. ...Read more

    Palma forces key turnovers to down Carmel, 33-21 for D-IV title

    Palma's plan all season was to keep the number of carries down for star RB Jack Myers in order to keep him fresh for the playoff run. That plan worked to perfection as Myers rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns on a whopping 31 carries to lead the top-seeded Chieftains (11-1-1) to a 33-21 over previously undefeated and second-seeded Carmel (12-1) Saturday night in front of an estimated crowd of 5,000 at Monterey Peninsula College in the CCS Division IV Championship. ...Read more
