    Salinas goalkeeper Ricardo Losoya made a tremendous save to seal a win in a penalty kick shootout over host Fremont in the first round of the CCS Division I playoffs.     Salinas knocks off Santa Teresa, 73-62

    Salinas opened up a tight game with a strong fourth quarter and went on for a 73-62 win over Santa Teresa Saturday night at Piedmont Hills to advance to the CCS Division I semifinals. The Cowboys (21-5) will face top-seeded Bellarmine (16-11) Wednesday night at Independence. Santa Teresa, the defending CCS Division I champs, ends its season at 12-13. ...Read more

    The Bellarmine Bells dominated in a CCS Division I semifinals matchup against the Salinas Cowboys, 60-39, Wednesday evening at Independence to advance to Saturday's championship at Santa Clara University. The Bells (17-11) will take on Piedmont Hills (27-2), a 46-34 winner over San Benito, Saturday night at 8 pm. Salinas finishes its season with an outstanding 21-6 mark. ...Read more

    Menlo Atherton has no trouble with Salinas, 49-14

    Cameron Moody and Taylor Mashack combined for five rushing touchdowns and Menlo-Atherton built a 35-0 lead in the first half en route to a 49-14 victory over visiting Salinas in a CCS Division I semifinal game in Atherton Friday afternoon. With the victory, the Bears (9-3) advance to the D-I championship match against the winner of the Serra-Milpitas game, which will be contested Saturday afternoon at Serra.
