    Sequoia edges Fremont to reach quarters

    Visiting Sequoia continued its surprising run through the Central Coast Section Division I Boys Basketball playoffs with a 38-36 win over sixth-seeded Fremont Thursday night.     Salinas gets past Fremont in penalties

    Salinas goalkeeper Ricardo Losoya made a tremendous save to seal a win in a penalty kick shootout over host Fremont in the first round of the CCS Division I playoffs.     Fremont finishes strong to defeat Wilcox, 58-48

    The Fremont boys basketball team broke open a close game with a strong fourth quarter and posted a 58-48 win over visiting Wilcox in Santa Clara Valley Athletic League El Camino action Friday night. The Firebirds (14-6, 6-2 SCVAL-EC) remained a game back of first-place Los Altos, while Wilcox (9-9, 5-3) remained in third place.
