    Notre Dame edges Gunderson despite 34 from Chavez

    Visiting Notre Dame-San Jose broke open a close game late to post a 58-48 victory over Gunderson Friday December 14 in non-league girls basketball action. Sophomore center Carly Turner (12 points) and junior captain Nnenna Ajawara (11 points) led the way for the Regents, who improved to 4-4 with the victory.     Fightin' Irish Volleyball Turns Back Notre Dame-SJ

    The top-seeded Sacred Heart Cathedral girls volleyball team raced into the CCS Division III semifinals with a 25-16, 25-14, 25-22 win over visiting Notre Dame-San Jose Thursday night in San Francisco. The Fightin' Irish (28-7) advance to meet WCAL rival Valley Christian (23-15), a four-set winner over Burlingame, in a CCS semifinal match next Wednesday night at Valley Christian (7:30 pm).     Lions Shoot For Gold, Capture Bronze at Del Mar

    Coming out with a hard-earned 2-2 record, the Lincoln Lions finally had their chance to shine after a long day at the Del Mar Invitational volleyball tournament this past Saturday. Struggling against more experienced teams such as Notre Dame (San Jose), the Lions (3-2), through mental and physical perseverance and strong leadership, ultimately claimed the title of one of the two Bronze Division Championships along with fellow BVAL-Santa Teresa Division member Branham. Notre Dame won the Silver Division Championship with a 25-14, 21-25, 15-9 win over Terra Nova. ...Read more
