Excitement building for prep event at Levi's

August 3, 2015

As we reported early Sunday morning, the Friday Night Lights event on September 18 at Levi’s Stadium is set with three games involving area high schools. The schedule is now listed on the Levi’s Stadium site, as it was Sunday morning on Ticketmaster.

Though we doubt the games can be completed in the time allowed, the schedule is this: Wilcox vs. Pioneer, 4 p.m.; Watsonville vs. Scotts Valley, 6 p.m. and Milpitas vs. Valley Christian, 8 p.m.

“I’m excited,” said Pioneer coach Eric Perry who also coached at Levi’s Stadium in Saturday’s Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star football game. “I didn’t want to say anything until I told the team this morning. We had a meeting. A lot of them were at the game on Saturday (at Levi’s), but they didn’t put two-and-two together that this could be a possibility. They were super excited – jumping around and high-fiving and everything.”

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or by calling 415-GO-49ers. It is a general admission event with tickets at $20 for adults and $5 for youth (18-and-under).

Last year the original Friday Night Lights event was held with double-headers held on consecutive games in October.
