Randy Duck has been named as the new girls’ basketball coach at San Ramon Valley, according to an email from Wolves’ athletic director John Raynor
Duck played at Cal from 1993 through ’97 and was a professional player in Europe and Asia.
“Randy has tremendous experience in the areas of: working with young adults, teaching individual skill and coaching basketball,” Raynor said. “He will be a great addition to the SRVHS athletic department.”
Duck was a two-year starter at guard for Cal and a member of three NCAA tournament teams. He was Cal's Most Inspirational Player in 1994 and Best Defensive Player in 1996 and '97. He also scored 1,003 career points and was fifth in school history with 153 three-pointers, including 60 as a senior. He averaged 12.3 points per game in 1997.
