Southern Cal recap: Hanley leads Brea Olinda over Yorba Linda

Each week, Prep2Prep takes a look at some of the key matchups involving Southern California high school football teams.

Southern Section

Brea Olinda 24, Yorba Linda 20: The Wildcats improved to 2-0 on the road and 3-3 overall as senior running back Billy Hanley had a nice day on the ground with 130 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 11 carries.

Monrovia 48, San Marino 42: Despite a tough loss, Titans junior quarterback Carson Glazier had a huge game through the air as completed 24 of 41 passes for 432 and six touchdowns to finish with a QB rating of 114.0.

Verbum Dei 47, Oak Park 22: Eagles senior wide receiver Tyler Frey had his name called often as he had seven receptions for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Oak Park (0-6) is still searching for its first win of the season.

In other action ... junior Joey Hagerman led the Joshua Springs offense to a 62-6 win over Bloomington Christian as he completed 14 of 25 passes for 369 yards and six touchdowns.

San Diego Section

Christian 56, Coronado 0: Patriots junior quarterback David Jeremiah proved to be extremely accurate as he completed 25 of 31 passes for 307 yards and five touchdowns in a blowout win over the Islanders.

El Capitan 63, Grossmont 28: Senior quarterback Brad Cagle contributed with both his arm and legs as the Vasqueros remain undefeated. Cagle completed 17 of 27 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 71 yards and two rushing touchdowns on just six carries.

Tri-City 50, Foothills Christian 33: Despite only completing 12 passes, Eagles junior quarterback Andrew Reitmeyer threw for five touchdowns and 404 yards to lead the Eagles to their first home win. Senior running back Joshua Edington rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries and also caught three passes for 145 yards and two scores.

Los Angeles City Section

Carson 54, George Washington Prep 8: In a blowout win, Colts senior quarterback Kiki Flores proved to be very efficient through the air as he completed 10 of 11 passes for 171 yard and four touchdowns to finish with an impressive 169.5 QB rating.

South Gate 49, Huntington Park 3: South Gate's Andrew Toro averaged 33.8 yards per pass as he completed 9 of 13 passing attempts for 304 yards and four touchdowns in a blowout win over the Spartans.
