Salcido the pick as new Bellarmine soccer coach

July 15, 2015

Conor Salcido has been named the new soccer coach at Bellarmine College Prep, according to Bells’ athletic director Joe Romano.

Salcido is a BCP and Santa Clara University grad. He has coached the Bells’ freshman team for the past three years.

Added Romano: “Clearly gifted in more than one sport, in 2014 he graduated from the Professional Golf Teachers Academy … Conor is excited for this upcoming school year and season.”

Salcido replaces Justin Johnson who coached the team for one season, leading the Bells to a section title. Johnson left for a community college job.

Johnson’s predecessor was Patrick Lowney, who led the Bells to nine WCAL titles and six section crowns since 2001. Lowney’s 2002 team went 25-0 and captured a mythical national title.
