CCS baseball: Gonzalez' relief performance lifts SHC, and more

A two-out error early in the game, combined with a fantastic relief outing, lifted Sacred Heart Cathedral past Serra on Friday, 3-1.

Adrian Gonzalez came on in relief of Uday Narottam in the fourth inning and slammed the door on the Padres, going three and two-thirds innings without allowing a hit. Narottay allowed just three hits and one unearned run, but six walks led to an early exit.

The Fightin' Irish took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, when Lucas Herrera's two-out ground ball to third base was misplayed for a two-run error. Diego Padilla added a sacrifice fly for SHC in the bottom of the sixth. Dan Hinderliter had two hits for the Irish, while Chris Rodriguez added a double.

Snow pitches Carlmont past Capuchino

Logan Snow struck out 11 batters over six innings, leading Carlmont past Capuchino, 5-1.

Snow allowed just two hits and one run, while Jake Robinson paced the offense with two hits and a run batted in. Tyler DeSmidt added a pair of RBIs and scored a run.

Fleischlii is dominant in SHP victory

Nathan Fleischlii went the distance for Sacred Heart Prep on Friday, pitching the Gators past Menlo, 9-0.

Fleischlii struck out 10 and allowed just three hits with no walks for SHP, and was supported by a huge day at the plate from Ryan Mo. Mo went 4-for-5 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored.

Parker Isaacson reached base five times, going 2-for-2 with three walks, adding a double and scoring three times, while Reece Lindquist added a pair of hits and two RBIs.

Silveira, Norris lead Mountain View past Paly

Jared Norris earned the complete game victory for Mountain View, scattering four hits, while Tristan Silveira powered the Spartans' offense in a 5-2 win over Palo Alto.

Silveira went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored, while Tyler Woo added two hits and Aran Cox had two RBIs.

Hyunwoo Roh had two hits and an RBI in the loss for the Vikings.

Berring's blast caps big inning for Palma

A two-run home run by Jon Jon Berring was part of a four-run sixth inning, as Palma came back to beat Salinas, 5-2.

Salinas led by two runs headed to the bottom of the fifth, but Palma scored once in the fifth before the outburst in the sixth. Jerry Flores had a big day at the plate for the Chieftains, going 3-for-3 with a double.

Joe Castaneda turned in a solid start for Palma, striking out four and scattering five hits over four and two-thirds innings.
