Young talent and depth leads Acalanes past San Domenico

Junior Scott Ruegg led three Acalanes players in double figures, as the Dons took down San Domenico on Thursday at the San Rafael Classic, 54-49.

Ruegg had a team-high 16 points for the Dons, hitting a pair of shots from beyond the arc in the process. Meanwhile, junior Graham Smith and freshman Theo Stoll had 11 points each as Acalanes demonstrated its youthful talent in the win over the Panthers.

Stoll was 5-of-6 from the free throw line for the Dons, while another freshman, Jake Davis, added another eight points in the Acalanes effort.

San Domenico led by a point at the end of the first quarter, 10-9, before the Dons controlled the game over the next two quarters, building a nine-point lead headed to the fourth quarter.
