In its first year in the PSAL, the Cristo Rey boys soccer team captured a league title with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory at The Nueva School on Tuesday afternoon.
Trailing 1-0 at the half, the Lions (12-2-2 PSAL) came back with three second-half goals to clinch the title, finishing four points clear of second-place KIPP San Jose Collegiate and Summit Prep, who each finished 11-4-1.
By winning the PSAL in its first season as a league member, Cristo Rey advances to the CCS playoffs, where the Lions are expected to receive the No. 7 or No. 8 seed. Prep2Prep has Cristo Rey taking on No. 1 seed Soquel in its latest projection.
The Nueva School finished its season with a 10-5-1 league mark.
