Kelmar leads Kehillah Jewish past Summit Prep

PALO ALTO - Kehillah Jewish put its game against Summit Prep out of reach with a big third-quarter run on Tuesday afternoon, and senior David Kelmar provided plenty of scoring in a 66-45 win over the Huskies.

Kelmar drained seven three-pointers and finished with a game-high 35 points, leading the Rams to their third win in the last four games. Kehillah trailed after one quarter, 16-15, despite 11 first-quarter points from Kelmar, but forged a three-point lead at the half, 28-25.

The Rams then got defensive coming out of halftime, holding Summit Prep to just five points in the third quarter as they built a 50-30 lead after three periods of play, and never looked back from there. Senior Adam Eylon had four of his 10 points in the third quarter for Kehillah Jewish, while Kelmar poured in 12 more points during the period.

Garrett Kelly had 26 points to lead Summit Prep, but just eight points after halftime. Robert Wilds added 17 points for the Huskies.

With the win, Kehillah Jewish improved to 11-6 overall, 7-4 in PSAL-North action, holding tight in fourth place in the league standings. The Rams head to second-place Pacific Bay Christian next Monday.

Summit Prep fell to 7-9, 5-5. The Huskies host Pacific Bay Christian on Thursday.
