Ketton lifts Santa Clara over Independence

November 20, 2017

Senior running back Erik Ketton ran for 193 yards and four touchdowns - including the winning score in double overtime - as host Santa Clara moved into the CCS Division 4 semifinals with a 33-27 win over visiting Independence Friday night.

Picking up the slack for injured senior quarterback Christopher Brown (11-of-22, 99 yards, 1 rushing TD), Ketton carried the load with 35 rushing attempts to lift the Bruins (8-3) past the Sixers (7-4), who overcame a 14-point deficit to force overtime.

Fourth-seeded Santa Clara will face top-seeded Leland (10-1) Friday night in San Jose in one semifinal with Christopher hosting Alisal in the other.
