Senior Waking Bailey scored four touchdowns as host Willow Glen knocked off Del Mar, 34-14, in a key BVAL-Santa Teresa Division game Friday night.
The two teams came in tied for second and the top two teams in the BVAL-ST receive automatic bids to the CCS playoffs. Waking ran for 71 yards on just four carries and scored on a 35-yard reception as the Rams (5-2, 3-1 BVAL-ST) scored all of their points in the first half and cruised to the win.
Senior quarterback Lorenzo Gayles completed 5 of 10 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, including a 25-yard strike to Connell Ryans as time was winding down in the second quarter. Gayles had connected with Bailey midway through the second quarter, as the Rams pulled away and led 34-7 at the half.
Willow Glen hosts Leland (7-0, 4-0) Friday night with first place on the line. Del Mar (2-5, 2-2) hosts Silver Creek (3-4, 0-4).
