Senior Micah Barnes tossed three touchdown passes and ran for three more scores to lead host Kennedy-Richmond to a season-opening 48-0 victory over Bethel Friday night.
Barnes completed 6-of-11 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 75 yards and three touchdowns on just four carries to lift the Eagles (1-0). Senior Larry Washington Jr. ran for 119 yards on 12 carries and caught a 69-yard touchdown pass from Barnes.
The Eagles kicked off to start the game, and recovered their own kickoff. Three plays later, Barnes ran for the first of his six total touchdowns, and the rout was on.
Next up for Kennedy is a home game Friday night against Oakland Tech. Bethel (0-1) looks to rebound Friday night at home against Swett.
