Keller Chryst and Aubrey Dawkins scored 19 points apiece to lead Palo Alto to a 59-43 victory over host Saratoga in Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division action Tuesday night. With the win, the Vikings (18-1, 8-0 SCVAL-DA) remain perfect in league play and opened up a two-game lead over the second-place Falcons (15-5, 6-2).
Chryst, one of the top junior quarterbacks in the state, has proven to be an outstanding basketball player as well, as he contributed 15 rebounds in his best performance of the season. Dawkins, Palo Alto's leading scorer, dropped in nine of his 19 in the first quarter to stake the Vikings to a 21-9 lead at the end of one.
Kyle Dozier scored 12 points and Alex Wang added 11 for the Falcons, who look to rebound Friday night at Milpitas. Palo Alto looks to extend its 15-game winning streak Friday night at home against Homestead.
