Senior guard Courtney Danna scored 18 points to lead host Presentation to a 49-30 win over Valley Christian in West Catholic Athletics League girls basketball action Tuesday night. The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for the Panthers (9-11, 3-6 WCAL), who completed a season sweep of the Warriors (6-11, 1-7) remarkably enough by identical scores.
Presentation jumped out to a 19-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and was never seriously threatened from that point on. Danna nailed two 3-pointers and hit 6-of-8 free throws, and junior Debra Simontacchi chipped in with 12 points for the Panthers. Valley Christian was led by junior guard Jessica Mitz, who finished with eight points.
Both teams are back in action Thursday night as Valley Christian visits Sacred Heart Cathedral and Presentation travels to Notre Dame-Belmont.
