Presentation scored a goal in each half to defeat visiting Notre Dame-Belmont, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in WCAL girls soccer action. With the victory, the Panthers (9-2-1, 4-1-1 WCAL) remained three points behind top-ranked Archbishop Mitty (11-0-3, 6-0-0) in the league title race. The Tigers (6-4-1, 0-4-0) are still looking for their first league points.
Junior Sarah Lipscomb scored a first-half goal off an assist from junior midfielder Maile Washington. Then in the second half, senior Maggie von Massenhausen effectively put the game away with a goal off an assist from Lipscomb to make it 2-0.
Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Haaland recorded six saves in posting the shutout for Presentation, which next faces Sacred Heart Cathedral (4-7-1, 0-5-0) Wednesday. Notre Dame-Belmont hosts Mitty Wednesday afternoon.
