The Soquel boys basketball team placed five players in double figures en route to an 88-31 victory at Scotts Valley Friday night. With the victory, the Knights (9-5, 2-0 SCCAL) move into first place in the SCCAL. The Falcons (0-12, 0-2) are still looking for their first victory of the season.
Tucker Wiget (15 points) and Tristen Hodges (14) hit four 3-pointers apiece to lead the way for the Knights. Scott Akrop (13 points), Cody Valcarcel (10) and Nathan Vincent (10) also reached double figures as Soquel was up 49-15 by halftime and cruised to the victory.
Joseph Espinola led Scotts Valley with 10 points and Jack Codiga added nine.
Soquel hosts Santa Cruz Tuesday night (7 pm) while Scotts Valley visits St. Francis CCC Wednesday evening (5:30 pm).
