    Caruso scores 30 as Serra pulls away from El Camino

    With El Camino senior forward Michael Smith on the bench because of foul trouble, nobody was able to stop Serra standout Henry Caruso. As a result, Caruso went off for 30 points to help the Padres to a 74-66 win over the Colts in a CCS Open Division quarterfinal Friday night at Santa Clara High. The victory advances Serra (24-4) to the semifinals against Sacred Heart Cathedral next Wednesday night at Independence High. El Camino takes on Piedmont Hills in a consolation game Tuesday night. ...Read more

    Junior tailback Elijah Dale raced around left end on his team's first offensive play of overtime and sixth-seeded St. Ignatius stunned No. 1 Bellarmine, 13-10, in overtime to capture the CCS Open Division Championship Friday night at San Jose City College. It was the second section championship in a row for St. Ignatius, which captured the Division III title last season.
